Niger State Civil Servants Shun Court, Begins Strike
By Unknown At 3:24 PM 0
Niger State Civil servants have ignored a court injunction that no strike should take place in the state and have indeed begin an indefinite strike. It would be recalled that the Government had taken them to court, and the court had ruled that the strike planned by civil and public servants had become null and void and indeed of no effects
But following the expiration of a two-week ultimatum given to the state government to pay the full salaries to workers in the state, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have now directed all state civil servants to proceed on an indefinite strike action. So the strike is presently on.
